We’re excited that Araluen is part of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS). So now you can support us to raise valuable funds and enhance our services while recycling – that’s two good reasons to be involved and double your impact.

How the scheme works:

• As a Donation Partner, Araluen is registered to fundraise via Victoria’s CDS.

• So, if you recycle eligible containers through the scheme, you can opt to donate your refund to Araluen.

• For every eligible container you recycle on our behalf, Araluen will receive 10 cents – if we all get behind the scheme, this can really add up!

• Many aluminium, glass, plastic, and cardboard carton drink containers between 150ml and 3 litres are eligible – check for the 10-cent mark on the container.

• The scheme is operated for the state government by three different partner organisations who each manage their own zone. You can donate at refund points in the northern zone (we are not registered in the western or eastern zone yet). Check out the map here to find a handy location for you.
  

• Banyule, Nillumbik, Darebin and Whittlesea all largely fall into the Northern Zone.

• You can donate your refund to Araluen when you drop off your containers by using our unique Donation Partner ID – C2000010511 or our barcode available here. Or see the instructions at the bottom of the page to learn how easy it is to use a Reverse Vending Machine.

• The donation process is a little different in each zone, so please go to the relevant website for more information or email us at fundraising@araluen.org

You can also download and register using the app for the zone/s where you will drop off your containers. Once you’ve downloaded the app, search for Araluen to nominate us to receive your refund each time.

How to donate in the Northern Zone at a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM)

More Reverse Vending Machines are popping up! It’s easy – and fun!- to donate your container refund using a RVM! Just follow these easy steps.

1: Photograph Araluen’s donation partner barcode and keep it handy on your phone.

2: The most important thing to remember: When you arrive at the RVM, scan the barcode BEFORE you start depositing your containers.

3: Feed the machine! Insert your containers into the slot and watch the money add up!

4: Select “Finish” when you’re done.

5: Feel good at supporting Araluen and recycling for a greener, cleaner world.
