Chancez Cafés offer a practical, hands-on pathway equipping participants with the skills and experience needed to prepare for future employment and greater independence. With 8 years of successful operations across Banyule, Nillumbik, and Whittlesea, Chancez Café provides hands-on learning in real cafés, setting you on a path towards future employment goals.

What is the Chancez Pathway?

The Chancez Pathway is a structured two year skill building Program of Support that helps participants develop job readiness through real world experience. Participants serve customers, prepare food and beverages, and refine essential work skills.

The program encourages independence, teamwork, and self-confidence, building the foundation for future employment opportunities.
Additionally, participation at Chancez Cafes supports people to improve everyday life and social skills, helping them feel more comfortable in social situations, manage daily tasks more independently, and build stronger connections with others.

Overview: your journey with Chancez Pathway

Over two years, participants progress through a series of units tailored to develop essential foundation skills that are adaptable to many workplaces, including hospitality or retail.

Each 12 week Program of Support builds on the previous one so you can gradually develop confidence and practical knowledge. The units cover all key skills like food and coffee preparation, health and safety, customer service, point of sale, and workplace skills.

With opportunities to apply these skills in real café environments, participants grow personally and professionally, working towards greater independence and job readiness. This supportive approach ensures you’ll leave the program with the skills, experience, and confidence to take your next steps towards possible employment or beyond.
