As autumn settles in, we’re reflecting on 12 months of meaningful progress at Araluen.
There’s something new at Araluen – Active Support – and it’s already making a big difference! Active Support is a way of working that allows all participants to meaningfully engage in tasks, activities and relationships.
Since launching Active Support in May 2024, we’ve been steadily rolling out this evidence-based approach across all our services. As Araluen’s largest-ever investment in staff development, Active Support is giving our teams the skills to recognise that every moment holds potential for people to connect, learn, and grow – and to deliver support that makes those moments count.
By the end of 2025, 90% of our staff will be trained – and we’re already seeing the impact: greater independence, stronger confidence, and more choice in everyday life for the people we support.
It’s been a busy and purposeful year so far. This season offers a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.
