The Araluen preloved book sale is postponed for 2026
BUT WE AIM TO BE BACK BIGGER & BETTER IN EARLY 2027
Due to unforeseen resourcing challenges, Araluen has made the difficult decision to postpone our popular Preloved Book Sale, which was originally scheduled for Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026.
We apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause. While we’re disappointed not to hold the event this year, we are already planning for an even bigger and better sale in early 2027. The event remains an important fundraiser for Araluen, helping us continue our work supporting people to live better lives.

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated books and other preloved goods. Your generosity is appreciated and continues to make a difference.
We are still accepting resaleable preloved items including:
- Books – adults and children’s, all genres
- Jigsaw puzzles
- CDs & DVDs
- Containers that are eligible for Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme – check for the 10 cent mark
Important chapter in this tale:
To help make the most of every donation, please only drop off items that are in good, clean, usable, and complete condition. We are not accepting magazines, encyclopedias, text books, or travel guides older than 2022. While your support is much appreciated, if it’s broken, incomplete, or not a book, puzzle, or CD, we have to pay to dispose of it – and that’s no happy ending. So, if you’re unsure if an item is suitable, please feel free to talk to us before donating.
