2024 – 2025: Our year in review

“The disability sector continued to experience significant change and challenge, including a constrained financial environment and evolving expectations around support delivery, underpinned by a growing recognition of human rights. During a year of focused on reflection and resilience, we responded to our challenges with clarity and courage”.

CELEBRATING A PROUD HISTORY WHILE LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

We proudly present our 2024 – 2025 Annual Report.

Our 50th anniversary celebrations at Lower Plenty reaffirmed our purpose and proud history, honouring the founding vision that every person deserves a life of meaning and possibility.

Driving change with purpose

Amid sector-wide financial pressures and increasing compliance requirements, we continued action to strengthen Araluen’s resilience – launching Road to Recovery, a multi-year transformation to strengthen sustainability and ensure we continue meeting the needs of the people we support.

Introducing Active Support to achieve better lives

We continued to innovate with a deliberate focus on integrated, contemporary support approaches. A highlight of our year was embedding Active Support practice in partnership with La Trobe University’s Living with Disability Research Centre.

Our people, our strength

Thank you to everyone who walks alongside us – participants, families, staff, volunteers, Board members, partners, funders, and supporters. Your belief in Araluen makes our work possible. Together, we are building a future full of possibility.

The disability sector will continue to evolve. As we look ahead, we do so with purpose and greater optimism that the work undertaken this year has laid a strong foundation for the future. Guided by a clear plan, we are fully committed to building a modern, thriving organisation – connected to community, expanding our reach, and making our vision real for each individual we support – imagining and achieving better lives.
