A letter from Jade to you

Dear valued participants and friends,

We are writing to let you know that someone from outside Araluen (another organisation called HDAA) will be working with us from the 13th  to the 15th of July 2020 to review the quality of our services (how well we support people) and that some people may be provided the opportunity to get involved.

This person (sometimes called an ‘Assessor’) will let us know how well we meet the NDIS Practice Standards. These standards look at how well we support people to make their own decisions, if they can do the things they want to do when they want to do them, if we treat people with respect and if people feel safe and supported at Araluen. Assessors will choose people who receive services from Araluen in advance and at random to talk to about these issues, over the phone or virtually (on the computer). Everything said is confidential (not told to anyone else) and it usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Assessors may also want to look at the information that Araluen holds about participants, but they will not show it to anyone outside of Araluen or take anything away.

People selected for chats will be contacted by Araluen staff in advance to ask if they would like to participate.  If people are happy to talk that’s great, but if they do not want to that’s ok too.

If you have any questions about this process, you can email the Quality Team at Araluen on QualityTeam@araluen.org or call Jade on 0449 755 150.

Warm regards and thank you in advance

Jade
