Araluen currently operates 24 long term supported accommodation places across four sites.
Through our residential services we are continuing to develop options that meet the changing needs of our clients and their families. For some people this means more community integration and building independence. For others, it may be increased connections to family or supporting changing health needs as our people age.
Residences
Our properties are well maintained and staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Each place is a home rather than a house. Our residents express their individuality in a variety of ways. The photo albums maintained at each residence capture a wide variety of experiences and characters.
We encourage residents to individualise their personal bedrooms with their preferences in furniture and decorations. We also encourage them to maintain contact with friends and family within and outside their home.
Support
Our staff provide support with household duties, personal care and involvement in community based activities. They work with specialist and community based services to provide for the needs of each individual resident.Philosophy
The overarching philosophy of Araluen’s residential services is that residents have a right to privacy, to be treated with dignity and to have a say in what happens in their home life. Residents receive a statement of their rights and responsibilities within their house, including a complaints process.Cost
Our fees are based on living expenses and assume people are eligible for the Disability Support Pension. Centrelink provides Rent Assistance for residents to assist with our fees.
