Magda’s pictures conjure up a host of possibilities full of expression with dramatic interplays of light and dark, solidity and transparency, reality and abstraction. The figure is her main source of inspiration. No-one sits for a portrait – they’re all drawn from memory. Each of her figures is matched with a style of painting or drawing which communicates their character. Her touch can be sharp, languid, sensuous, relaxed or frank creating works of arresting beauty and energy.
