Jason Horton

The overwhelming impression of Jason’s work is how social his paintings are; humorously conceived yet always lovingly crafted. Jason’s art is primarily concerned with identity but in this case identity has two contrasting meanings. The first is sameness or a common identity. The second, personal or separate identity. This makes Jason’s art highly autobiographic although not in a direct sense. Through art, Jason explores and establishes his own identity, creating the self-image of artist and viewing himself as part of a broader community.
