Araluen

David Waterhouse

David is a committed and self-motivated artist. He spends as much time as possible working both at Araluen and his bathing box inspired home studio. Having constructed a model city from boxes and paint (seen above in the background), David uses this as inspiration for his highly popular two dimensional work. He continues to build, paint and draw. Each element contributes to the other weaving a rich visual tapestry of ideas with emphasis on pattern and repetition. Figurative elements appear in David’s work as he responds to the world around him - the native animals around Araluen and how they adapt to the city, his home life, excursions and more give life to his buildings.

Achievements:
David has presented a solo exhibition for the Nillumbik Shire Council and has exhibited at Parliament House, Victoria, as well as numerous group exhibitions.
