“Art Connects” is a Sponsorship initiative devised to further the goals and aspirations of Araluen’s Artists. Positive reaction to the work produced at Araluen led to the recognition that our artists have a role to play within the broader mainstream Arts community. “Art Connects” seeks funding from businesses of all sizes and individuals to ensure that artists with a high standard of skill receive the same opportunities and exposure as any other artist.
Through public presentation of work, artists gain an avenue to participate in society perhaps otherwise unavailable to them. They earn income and recognition from their creative ability and contribute to a diverse and culturally rich landscape. A sense of pride, motivation and a positive self-image as a person of value are the results.
“Art Connects” funding makes it possible for Araluen to:
- purchase professional quality materials and equipment
- improve resources for the Art Program so that all participants can enjoy quality tuition, equipment and personalised programming
- provide a fee directly to the artist when their work is acquired by a Sponsor
- present several professional standard group and solo exhibitions annually
- source placement for work in a wide range of exhibitions, festivals, competitions and commercial venues
- present participants in a professional manner befitting their status as artists
- showcase the ability of individuals to foster greater acceptance

Individual Sponsors receive:
- A Welcome Pack containing postcards by 12 Araluen Artists
- A piece of framed artwork of your choice (up to the value of $300 sale price)
- Updates on the Program and Artists
- Invitations to Araluen Exhibition and events for yourself and friends
- The satisfaction of making a difference
Business Sponsorship packages:
Orana Package:
Orana is an indigenous Australian word meaning “Welcome”. For this reason, it’s the name given to the front building at our Lower Plenty site where the Art Studio is also located.
Orana Sponsors receive:
- A Welcome Pack containing postcards by 12 Araluen Artists
- A piece of framed artwork of your choice (up to the value of $300 sale price)
- Updates on the Program and Artists
- Acknowledgement as a supporter in relevant Araluen promotional materials
- Use of Araluen logo and artwork for own promotional purposes (with approval)
- Araluen supplied artwork template for company Christmas cards (printing & other production costs at own expense)
- Invitations to Araluen Exhibition and events for yourself, staff and clients
- The satisfaction of making a difference
Naroo Package:
Naroo is the name of our newly completed building housing the Continued Learning Unit at our Lower Plenty site. It was named after Naroo Street, Balwyn, location of Araluen’s original Centre opened in 1968.
Naroo Sponsors receive:
- Benefits as per the Orana Package (above) plus:
- Loan of artwork for display on your premises or events for an agreed time
- The guidance of “Art Connects” staff to select and present loaned work as well as signage and labelling
In addition to the benefits listed above, opportunities exist to sponsor or host exhibitions and events or to lease artwork for your business premises from our stock of original high quality works.
